Lions Completes Modular Eye Clinic Sites Inspection in Idi-Iroko

As part of its plans to establish six eye clinics, fully funded by Lions Club International Foundation and Latter-Day Saints Charities, in six different primary health centres in Ogun State, the Lions District 404B1’s  Sustainable Vision Center Committee, has rounded- up the inspection of six different primary health Care facilities in Ogun State Model Primary Health Centre, Idi-Iroko in Ipokia Local Government Area. All the six centres are in Ogun West Senatorial district .

The Sustainable Vision Center Committee’s Chairman, PDG Waheed Kadiri said six centres inspected by the vision committee for the modular eye care pilot clinics project include Ijoko Primary Health Centre, Ayetoro Primary Health Centre in Yewa North Local Government.

Others are Imeko Primary Health Centre, Leslie Primary Health Centre Ilaro, Yewa South Local Government Area, Alaga Primary Health Centre and Ogun State Model Primary Health, Idi-Iroko both in Ipokia Local Government Area.

The Project Administrator, PDG Lekan Babalola said the selected six primary health centres will be well equipped with state-of-the art eye health service equipment that most hospitals don’t have. According to him, the facilities in the centres will meet international standard for efficient running of eye health care services.  Adding that the modular eye clinics will provide an all -encompassing eye treatment functions except cataract surgery. And that those in need of surgery may be given referral to the Lions’ Ultra- Modern Eye Clinic at the State General Hospital Ota, for further treatment.

The six modular Eye Centres upon completion, according to Babalola, will serve the purpose of eye screening; examination and diagnostic as well as refraction. PDG Babalola said the eye center will be equipped with spectacle frames and optical workshop equipment including edging machines, lens meter, polishing machine, tint machine, grooving machine and optical pliers.

Other members of the Inspection Team include lion Dr Juliet Oplaleye, the Technical Consultant for the project, Lion Adetunji Adesina, Lion Wale Oladipupo, Lion Wale Salako, Lion Dare Agbeluyi and the representative of Visionpro.
