Lions’ District 404B3 Unveils Plan to Feed 5000

The Lions Club International, District 404 B3 Nigeria has unveiled a plan to feed 5000 indigent members across Nigeria’s Lagos, Ogun, and Oyo states. The first-of-its-kind plan was disclosed by Lion (Dr) Ibrahim Jide Bello, the newly installed District Governor of District 404B3 Nigeria, amongst other plans, at a press briefing with media executives in Lagos, Nigeria.

The roadmap for the actualization of the plan is the construction of a Food Court, under the service focus initiative of Relieving Hunger in line with Lions Clubs International service focus areas. The new DG says “We will prioritize the construction of a “Food Court” to address hunger in our country. This initiative aims to provide nutritious meals to those in need, ensuring that no one goes to bed hungry. We are targeting to reach out to 5000 people”. He affirmed.

This project is most laudable when it is juxtaposed with the reality of the national economy, where the indigent bracket is becoming wider by the day, where more and more people are no longer sure of just one meal. The District Governor, Jide Bello, gave the assurance that he and his team would give priority attention to the project to ensure it is completed in a record time so that District 404B3 Nigeria can give succor to the less privileged people in our communities.

The food court project is the first of its kind with the capacity to initiate upward spirals. Our people say poverty minus hunger is no poverty. The number one need of human beings, according to Maslow, is food. Giving people access to good nutrition, is not only a way of giving them access to good mental and physical health, it’s also a way of improving the productivity level of the people that can invariably take them out of the indigent bracket
